One of the things that many people are not aware of is oral minocycline. It is an antibiotic to treat other medical conditions like urinary tract infections and pneumonia. Minocycline comes under the class of antibiotics known as tetracyclines, which stops bacteria from developing the proteins they need to grow or grow. Some people are there who take minocycline even to treat acne. If you have inflamed acne, your doctor can prescribe you a minocycline for acne. If other medicines have not responded well to the acne-, like doxycycline, your doctor can prescribe the same. Just like minocycline, doxycycline also belongs to the category of the tetracycline family. But the thing is that it is mild and causes fewer side effects.

Reviews for Minocycline –

Some of the minocycline for acne reviews are: ‘ This medication worked absolute wonders for me! After trying several topical treatments on my adult acne, with little to no result, it wasn’t like the teenage acne I had experienced in high school. This acne came in my second year of university and lasted until my fourth and final year, when I decided to take action. I was prescribed minocycline. Although results will vary with EVERY person, my results were almost instantaneous! I took the pills the first day and went to bed. I took them the second day and went to bed… when I woke up, I had almost NOTHING on my face. It was amazing and has stayed away. I was also lucky enough not to experience any side effects! It has been two years since, and the acne hasn’t returned.’ – anonymous.

“Minocycline made me super sick. I thought I had COVID but got two negative tests. I stopped taking it and started to feel better in about a day. It made me tired and nauseous, and I had chest pain, headache, and weirdness around the tonsils. Also, it didn’t help acne like other antibiotics have.” – Ali.

“After one week or two, I took two minocycline pills daily (one in the morning and one at night) and immediately saw the difference. I have suffered from pretty bad cystic acne for a few years, and my skin has never been that clear. After three months of usage, my skin was still amazing, as I was not getting any pimples. After three months, he told me that he could only prescribe one more month because of the acidity and the effect it could have on my body. I took only one pill daily for the last month, and I could immediately see that my acne was returning, although it was not as bad as before. Then, I stopped taking the medication, and my skin had never been that terrible after two weeks. I thought I had a mask because I wear masks every day, but the mask is not the problem, as stopping wearing it didn’t stop the problem. The minocycline is a good solution in the short term but not in the long term as the acne came back even worse than before.”

So, after taking the capsules, don’t expect them to work instantly. Even if you don’t find any improvement in your acne, it is still important that you follow the doctor’s prescription and take medicine. Sometimes, the bacteria become resistant to the medications over time.

Take Medication for 3 Months –

When you don’t take acne medication minocycline for long enough for them to kill off the bacteria, then such a situation can occur. The bacteria adapt to survive the antibiotic treatment, making it hard to kill them. So, tell your doctor to give the medication for at least three months. Well, your doctor will prescribe topical minocycline for acne and the anti-biotics for three months, even if you don’t tell them. If your acne is erased, you should reduce the intake, or your doctor will give you a topical antibiotic.
