Who are you?
Jay Dang: I’m a non-public instructor, lifelong athlete, and the founder and owner of 5 Star Fitness, a pinnacle non-public training studio in Arizona. I graduated from Northern Arizona University, where I studied finance. I was lucky to earn a football scholarship and set my sights on gambling in the NFL. When knee harm brought one’s desires to an end, I shifted my recognition to building a career in enterprise. I later realized that cash didn’t equal happiness and decided to stop my regular process with the circle of relatives’ commercial enterprise to pursue my goals in the health industry.
What is one of your proudest moments?
Jay Dang: One of my proudest moments changed into prevailing professional status inside the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness. I competed for the project and the pleasure of it, so it became a pleasing wonder once I found out that this became a particularly sought-after and prestigious award held through fewer than 1 percent of private trainers.
I’m pleased with this accomplishment because you can’t get this name through without a doubt, working a sure range of hours, passing a check, or shopping for it. You need to earn it. It’s specifically significant to me as it verified that what I was doing for my 5 Star Fitness clients was running. While the general public is excellent regular folks who need to shed pounds, frame fats, and transform their health, we’ve also had many clients compete and are in the top 5.
What excites you the most about your commercial enterprise right now?
Jay Dang: What’s most exciting is our customers’ changes. I love seeing the appearance on someone’s face while just 12 weeks ago, they couldn’t believe doing those exercises, losing 50 pounds, or having the strength to run around with their youngsters. That makes it clear to wake up every day and motivates me to be my great.
I’m also excited about our capacity to grow with social media and technology. It has by no means been more a laugh or streamlined to develop a business. The software can do a good deal of the heavy lifting even as we do what we adore: schooling and developing. With social media, we get marketplace-exceptional packages to the right humans at the right time and assist them in attaining their goals and surpassing their limits. We can motivate others and share our message with more humans than ever.
What ebook modified your mindset or existence?
Jay Dang: “The School of Greatness” via Lewis Howes helped me outline the lifestyles I want to stay in and greatly affected my desires. The ebook is truly motivating and facilitates you to move ahead with intention. Lewis walks you through an exercise wherein you destroy your ideal day via the hour. This helped me emerge as crystal clear on what I’m operating in the direction of and set goals to get there, so I have tangible desires for myself and my team to work toward.
What was your largest, most painful failure?
Jay Dang: My biggest, most painful failure became knee harm that ended my aspirations of gambling professional soccer. I studied, practiced, and cherished the game for 17 years. I BECAME DEVASTATED when I tore three ligaments and destroyed my meniscus; my goals were officially over. I felt misplaced and didn’t know what to do with my existence.
That damage changed my professional direction and helped me learn to deal with adversity. I knew that lifestyles don’t constantly move by devices. There can be a project after the undertaking, and as you degree up, the challenges stage up, too. Now, while matters don’t go according to the device, I don’t allow mishaps to sluggish me. The subsequent time you feel like you failed, recognize that the next opportunity is already on the way. It would help if you were tremendous to see it.
How do you outline amazing management?
Jay Dang: Great management is described by using fantastic outcomes. Great leaders have three key characteristics: robust communication abilities, a tremendous mindset, and an instance. Leaders must articulate their thoughts in a manner that is nicely acquired so others take action. Leading via model is cliché, but it’s essential. You can’t preserve others to a fashionable you don’t keep yourself to. If you want the crew to be on an identical web page, you must be optimistic and convey accurate vibes. No one likes running with a poor Nancy. With those characteristics, there is no other option, however, to be triumphant.
How do you rent pinnacle talent?
Jay Dang: What’s cool about 5 Star Fitness is that our customers employ 80 percent of our crew. We’re all a circle of relatives. We’ve seen that people who’ve skilled 5 Star Fitness firsthand agree with the product and stand at the back of the emblem 1,000 percent. We have a trial length with assessments to ensure someone is in tremendous shape earlier than presenting them with a complete-time function.
How do you prevent burnout?
Jay Dang: We can all get stuck up operating on thrilling projects, so I’ve devoted myself to making my fitness a concern. If I ever sense I’m running on empty, I’ll take off a whole day (or 3) to recharge. I’m in it for the long term. Eventually, I’ll need to step lower back from the enterprise, but I’m stopping at the gasoline proper now. I’ve found that journeying weeks, each sector, is the best amok-lifestyles balance for me. After weeks out of the country or state, I’m ready to return to my circle of relatives, pals, and gymnasium.
What are three stuff you would love to be doing in 3 years?
Jay Dang: I want to keep growing my brand’s impact, whether or not that’s via licensing, franchising, or opening more personal studios. That’s how I’m going to impact most of the people. I need locations in my preferred cities, like Sydney, Australia; Barcelona, Spain; and Tokyo, Japan. I also need to journey the sector with my inner circle. I’ve had, without a doubt, memorable reports of visiting, and I want my buddies to experience the same issue.
What do you want to be recognized for, or what do you need your legacy to be?
Jay Dang: I’d want to be recognized for impacting thousands and thousands of people, achieving excessive stages of achievement, and enjoying each minute while maintaining a healthy paintings-existence balance. I also want my team at Five Star Fitness to carry out my legacy. I need to help others benefit the self-belief of their minds and bodies and galvanize them to head after what they need.
